Track Name: An Ocean Blue
I was walking on the bottom
Of an ocean blue, when I saw you.
Skin as fair as pearl,
Chestnut hair that curls,
Hazel eyes imbued with sunrise hues.

Oh Poseidon,
How long had you kept her from my view?
For when our eyes did meet
(such soft familiar heat)
I fell in love with you before I knew.

And when you kissed me,
For a moment the world was calm.
You tied the earth around your finger string,
I made the heavens sing their siren song.

O I love you.
I'll love you until all time is dead.
When under paper moon
I will lay with you
and rest my weary head.

Take a train where,
Deep we sleep among the silent faces
As golden sunset breeze
Shakes starving winter trees
Like the flood of love's embraces

And when you kiss me,
For a moment the world is calm.
You tie the earth around your finger string,
I make the heavens sing their siren song.

"You can't blame it on the sun because
You'd be fighting a losing war.
So point your attention over here, my dear.
For I'm the one who went and stole your heart."

I was walking on the bottom
Of an ocean blue, when I met you.
Track Name: Bay of Naples
We are the Bay of Naples,
And the horses in Vesuvian stables,
Or the curves in a long cobblestone road.

We are the tales and the fables
Told by Romans at their gathering tables,
Or the ghost of a love lost long ago.

So bury this city in ashes,
We'll speak and breathe with dirt.
Our bodies and the air between them,
Preserved, dead in earth.

We got away with murder,
We took our dreams and we sealed them with mortar.
They're awake in a time that they don't know.

They took a day for granted
And now they found a place to be stranded.
Just waitin' for their mothers,
Waitin' for a quiet ride home.

So bury this city in ashes,
We'll speak and breathe with dirt.
Our bodies and the air between them,
Preserved, dead in earth.

You don't know what you're lookin' for,
And you don't care what you find.
Is there something here to make you believe
That you will someday have peace of mind?

We are the Bay of Naples,
And the horses in Vesuvian stables,
Or the curves in a long cobblestone road.

We are the tales and the fables
Told by Romans at their gathering tables,
Or the ghost of a love lost long ago.

So bury this city in ashes.
We'll speak and breathe with dirt.
Our bodies and the air between them
Preserved, dead in earth.
Track Name: You Are A Ghost
You are a ghost.
A winter rose that would be cold in the weather outside.
The wind it blows dead leaves and snow,
And your hair that's grown since when we said goodbye.

You sit across the pond and entertain me.
Of course you don't exist, but who could blame me?
I see you in places so familiar,
But that doesn't matter much until you're here with me.

You are a daydream under my fingers bare.
A melody played long ago still lingers there.
And when my hands go numb I find my way to bed,
Where the sheets will often try to feign your silhouette.

The way you wear your hair is always changing.
Of course you don't exist, but who could blame me?
I see you in places so familiar,
But that doesn't matter much until you're here with me.

I ponder your image like the warmth of the summer,
Both of which are now ablaze in ice.
Like the sun can be lost in a dry glaze of frost
On glass panes of windows in morning.

Just a kiss, a stare, that's all I'm craving.
Of course you don't exist, but who could blame me?
I see you in places so familiar,
But that doesn't matter much until you're here with me.

You are a ghost.
A winter rose.
Track Name: I'll Never Know
I'm a stone's throw from Ontario 493,
And the Stone Crow is a stone's throw from my house, you see.
Why Japanese geisha dance in the snow
Is one thing that I'm betting I'll never know.

If men fall in love with their eyes
And women fall in love with their ears,
Why was I drawn to your tears?
If you don't come out and tell me why you have to go,
It's one thing that I'm guessing I'll never know.

The party is perpetual.
And he is inseparable from solitude.
The smoke and the sounds,
They float up to him.
And they leave him alone.

He's never got two-sixty for the rent,
But he's always got two-fifty for a 40.
Every night of the week.

If there's a way to flee from here
Like the empties that we throw,
It's not that I'm forgetting,
It's that I'll never know.
Track Name: A Speckled Mind
Alone on the river
we laid under soft pines.
The water sent shivers
and speckled our minds.

You sent me a gaze.
Mine was lost at sea.
For I was enamored of
how the fish breathe.

With blood this cold
there's some time for seclusion.
This water made air
through divine substitution.

You swallow oxygen.
I see you struggling.
It's all quite troubling.
I was distracted by a new symphony.
Track Name: Disintegrate
Searching for a love
that won't turn back
that won't collapse
that won't disintegrate.

Searching for a love
that won't shut down
that won't burn out
that won't disintegrate.
Track Name: Old Man River
She leans back in her chair,
her hair tied back so carelessly
Completely does not care
that he is off philandering.

For seventeen years he has lied.
Seventeen years now that she has cried for nothing.

She bleeds now in her chair,
her hands tied up so carefully.
Completely unaware
that he had the capacity.

For seventeen years he has tried.
Seventeen years now and she has died for nothing.

Their love was true,
but time made it strange.
They both grew cold
and wicked in their own ways.

She descends so gracefully
into the black river bed.
A speckled mind will never find
its peace with nowhere to rest its head.

Old man river, left knee shaking.
The dreary cows have gone and taken their seats.
While the trees have seen her ghost.
They're trembling pale, she wailed and moaned:

"I rose from the river
and I'll walk to your door.
You won't tell me no now,
you won't say I'm wrong.

This storm's been brewing
for quite some time,
and if you want a fight
I'll give you fight now."

For seventeen years they had tried.
Seventeen years now and they have died for each other.
For nothing.
Track Name: Down The Water
Well you know nothing's certain.
Well you know I don't care about that.
When we all are lost,
floating on and across
down the water
I won't know who you are.

I ponder your whereabouts
as my skin is shed once again.
I've got nothing to figure out.
After all, I'm inanimate.
Track Name: The Blues Will Have To Do
Well even if the sky fell down
and turned the whole town blue,
she would take her coffee black.
And her blood would still run red.

She tells me that my love can turn
one hundred shades of gray.
So call me yellow,
call me what you may.

I've got something better
than a letter written by
a lover who would never have
another on her mind.

So fly me to the moon
and soon I'll sing a different tune.
But until it's true
the blues will have to do.

She told me that my heart grew colder
than the spring could thaw,
and I never had the chance to prove her wrong.

I can't help but wonder
how the days would run together on the moon.
Won't you take me soon?
If you hesitate
I cannot bare to wait here for you.

There ain't nothing better
than a letter written by
a lover who would never have
another on her mind.

So fly me to the moon and soon
I'll sing a different tune.
But until it's true
the blues will have to do.
Track Name: Midnight Book
Let's meet for secret, dear.
In the slowly flowing, golden honey dawn.
And the breathe in, breathe out before you wake.
This heart aches as the day breaks and I am gone.

Red and orange slowly sway
like a calm lake of fire
wet with the cold dead song
to sing the earth goodnight.

Sleep, my darling.
All of just one moment more is all I ask.
Your eyes, they break my sleep
beneath this skin which burns.

Let's write that midnight book
when the sun is a far and distant memory.
In the breathe in, breathe out before you wake,
I'll be the crow throwing stones at your window panes.

Red and orange slowly sway
and the devil can tell
that you've heard the cold dead song
to bid the moon farewell.
Track Name: Without The Sun
The sun has set for the last time.
Long yellow light in your mind's eye.
You take my hand, I hear you cry.
The sun no longer burns up in the sky.

Earth no longer turns within the light.
Empty widow moon knows only night.
You shake my bones, my heart is dry.
The sun no longer burns up in the sky.

Where have I gone?
All time has fallen.
Where did I go?
I don't know. I don't.

You see my reflection but there is no light.

The sun no longer burns up in the sky.
Earth no longer turns within the light.
Empty widow moon knows only night.
The sun no longer burns up in the sky.
